The biggest change concerning students, is the renewal of the educational model. A short summary of the most important changes follows here.
In the new educational model the following bachelors will exist:
• Science & Technology
• Biomedical Engineering
• Engineering Technology
• ICT
• Design Engineering
• Psychology
• Communication
• Business Administration
• Public Administration
These new bachelors are the begin of a cluster of bachelors, which are in fact majors. Most existing bachelors will be a major in the new system. Below is a picture of the system.
In the the new educational model, curricula are build up from modules. One module has a length of 10 weeks and will exist of 15 EC, exactly one quartile in the current system. Every module exists out of two parts: a project part and a few sub-courses. For every bachelor there are certain mandatory modules.
Every module has multiple testing moments. Within the project this will be a group examination, for the courses this will probably be an individual examination. The student gets a final result for the whole module.
In September 2013 students should be able to follow the new bachelors. Students who started in 2010 will get enough time to finish within the old curriculum.
