University of Twente
Individual sports

The Sports Centre offers Xtra-Card holders the chance to experience a range of familiar and less familiar sports on an individual basis, sometimes at a small additional cost. After a series of lessons, you will have mastered the basic skills of the sport in question. Most individual sport is taught at beginners' level, unless otherwise indicated.

More information.

Sport on an individual basis is available in two areas, grouplessons and courses.

Participation.
Group lessons.
Group lessons will now be offered throughout the whole year, with the exception of official UT holidays, public holidays and any Sports Centre closures. To take part in these open sessions you will need to have an Xtra – card and Fitness Card or Campus card. In this way, you will be able to participate whenever and as often as you wish, for free.

Courses.
The courses we offer will start at different times throughout the year, will vary in length, and a participation fee will be charged. To take part in a course, you will need an Xtra-card or a Campus card and to have paid your course fee.

Registration.
Group lessons.
For the group lessons, you don't need to register. At least 15 minutes before the start of the lesson, you will need to present your Xtra – card and Fitness Card or Campus card to be scanned at the Sports Centre Service Desk. You will then be given open session card to be handed to the trainer before the session begins. Tokens for the lockers, where you can store your belongings, can also be collected from the same Service Desk.

Courses
Registration for courses is required. Students and UT employees can register through the website but other participants need to register at the Sports Centre Secretary’s Office. Fee payments on the website are processed through IDEAL, but you can also pay cash at the Secretary’s Office, should you prefer. In case of insufficient interest the Sports Centre can decide to cancel the course.

Notification of any changes to the programme.
If you would like to be informed of any news about the group lessons ( there’s something new on offer, the session space has been changed, the trainer is ill etc.) you can join our mailing list. This mailing list is maintained solely to communicate information about the group lesson programmes, and for no other purpose.
