Pakkerij

The name ‘de Pakkerij’ dates back to when the building was still owned by textile company ‘van Heek’ that used it as a warehouse, called the ‘pakkerie’ by locals. The building currently honours its name by housing four student associations: AEGEE, Alpha, Audentis and Taste. The building is located on the old market square and every Thursday night it becomes a fun and bustling meeting point.

The Pakkerij has been a Union building since the Student Union was founded and has its own management committee, the Pakkerij Management Committee (BCP). Everyone who ventures inside the Pakkerij indirectly deals with the BCP.

Pakkerij

The Pakkerij Management Committee consists of a board member from every association housed in the Pakkerij and a Facilitating Manager (FM) from the University of Twente. The FM guarantees continuity within the management committee and advises its other members. The FM is not entitled to a vote.

The BCP has three main tasks. Firstly, the BCP is responsible for the maintenance of and the safety within the entire Pakkerij. This includes organising the in-house emergency assistants (BHV-ers). Secondly, the BCP handles all association issues, such as a Union party or signage within the Pakkerij. Thirdly, the BCP discusses problems within or between associations.
